Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, starring Karthi in the lead role is the big release of the day (November 17, 2017). The film, directed by H Vinoth will narrate a cop story and is touted to be an action thriller and the movie has got a worldwide release. Reportedly, the story of Theeran Adhigaram Ondru is based on some true events that occurred in the 1990s and it is set in a time span of 10 years. It revolves around an honest cop named Theeran, who has been assigned with a case of a series of murders. The film takes you through his mission.

Karthi As Theeran Thirumaran Karthi portrays the character Theeran, the daring honest cop, in an excellent manner. He definitely has put in a lot of effort to get the physique right and watch out for his expertise in the action sequences. He looks like a real cop in each frame. He has come out successful in portraying Theeran and thus leaving no shades of the previous cop role that he has done. Undoubtedly, Karthi as Theeran keeps you glued to the seats with his riveting performance.

Rakul Preet Singh As Priya Rakul Preet Singh gets to play a usual role. In comparison, her character lacks the required depth but at the same time, she has done a good job with her portrayal of Priya.

Abhimanyu Singh plays the role of the main antagonist and he evokes fear in the minds with his excellent portrayal of the leader of the dacoit group. It is his best outing in Kollywood, so far. It was nice to see Boss Venkat in a well-written role and he makes the maximum use of it by showcasing a fine performance. The film also features some newcomers in important roles and most of them have done complete justice to their roles.

Script & Direction – H Vinoth With Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, H Vinoth has once again proved his credibility as a sensible film-maker. The extensive research that he has done for the development of the characters and the storyline is quite evident. The writing requires due credits as he packs the punch with the sequences many a times without the aid of the usual punchlines and mass dialogues. It is not easy to package an action entertainer in the most convincing way, but with Theeran Adhigaram Ondru H Vinoth has shown the industry that it is definitely possible to come up with such a film. He has made the best use of the technical resources available to deliver a riveting and nail-biting cop story. The film-maker is in complete control of the product and each scene in the film has its own due importance in the main storyline.

Music – Ghibran Well, songs don’t have much importance in the film but at the same time, Ghibran got a big chance to experiment with the re-recording, which he has made the best use of. The BGM of the film gels well with the pace and the mood of the movie. Other Technicalities Theeran Adigaram Ondru has rich production values. Sathyan Sooryan has done an excellent job with the camera as he had to cover two different landscapes in the two halves and he has made them look sublime. The editing by Sathyan Suryan is crisp despite the long running time of the movie. A big pat on the back for the action choreography team as they have come up with some real, raw and at the same time, riveting action sequences in the film.

Overall View The best part of Theeran Adhigaram Ondru is in the fact that it doesn’t take the routine path of the usual cop tales that we see in Tamil cinema. The movie stands close to the plot and Theeran’s heroics unravel through the the character’s mission. Theeran Adhigaram Ondru is undoubtedly, one of the best action thrillers to have come in the recent times. The film shows us how action sequences could be interwoven to a storyline without making them odd. The film has many such riveting sequences that keep you engaged throughout the runtime. Watch out for the pre-interval sequence, which is sure to stun each and everyone of you. Moreover, kudos to the team for coming up with a climax which is entertaining, believable and acceptable.
